The Philadelphia Flyers are one of the more popular teams within the National Hockey League. Their presence can be felt throughout the entire league from the beginning of the season but unfortunately one of the Flyers key players has been hospitalized. Kimmo Timonen, the key defensemen for the flyers has been placed into the hospital due to a number of blood clots he has in both of his lungs as well as his lower right leg. The result of these blood clots means that he won’t be able to play for the first half of the 2014-2015 Season or he won’t be able to play at all.
The Flyers need to have a good defensemen or it would leave them extremely venerable for the upcoming season. This is why they have hired on Michael Del Zotto for a one year deal, it is unknown as to how much Mr. Zotto will be making during his one year contract with the Flyers. It should be noted that Del Zotto isn’t a bad defensemen what so ever. Throughout his six year career as a professional hockey player he has had 26 Goals, 121 Points and 95 Assists. This is an incredible record for a defensemen in a six year period of time.
If Kimmo Timonen is able to return for the second half of the season Mr. Del Zotto will be put onto the second line. This means the majority of his time will be spent on the bench. Either way whatever happens the Philadelphia Flyers will prove to be a destructive force in the NHL next season.
